Muzaffarpur/Patna : Security arrangements at Muzaffarpur’s Shaheed Khudiram Bose Central Jail came under a major inspection early Friday morning after the district administration and police conducted a surprise raid involving more than 150 personnel.
The operation began at around 3:45 am under the leadership of District Magistrate (DM) Gaurav Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kantesh Kumar Mishra. The search continued for nearly three hours, covering prisoners’ barracks, the jail hospital and the kitchen.
However, despite the extensive inspection, no prohibited or objectionable items were recovered from the jail premises.
150 Police Personnel and Senior Officers Joined the Operation
The surprise raid was conducted to review jail security arrangements and prevent illegal activities inside the prison.
Several senior officials participated in the operation, including City SP Mohibullah Ansari, along with ASP, SDM, DCLR and DSP-level officers. Eight officers at different administrative and police levels were also part of the inspection team.
The raiding team included 36 sub-inspectors, while more than 150 police personnel were deployed to support the operation and maintain security.
The sudden arrival of such a large police and administrative team created considerable activity inside the prison complex.
Barracks, Hospital and Kitchen Thoroughly Inspected
After entering the jail premises, the officials began inspecting sensitive wards and prisoners’ barracks. The search was subsequently extended to the jail hospital and kitchen.
The inspection covered different sections of the prison to identify any prohibited materials or suspicious activities.
Jail Superintendent Yusuf Rizwan was present during the operation and assisted the administrative and police teams throughout the inspection.
Three-Hour Search Ends Without Any Recovery
The surprise inspection began at approximately 3:45 am and concluded around 6:30 am.
Despite searching multiple areas of the prison, the officials did not recover any prohibited or objectionable items.
Such surprise inspections are conducted periodically to monitor security arrangements, maintain discipline and prevent unauthorised activities within prison premises.
More Surprise Inspections Expected
Following the operation, officials described the exercise as a preventive security measure aimed at strengthening prison administration and ensuring that illegal activities do not take place inside the facility.
Authorities have indicated that surprise inspections and similar security operations will continue in the future.
The early-morning raid is part of the administration’s efforts to maintain vigilance and ensure stricter security at Muzaffarpur Central Jail.
