Muzaffarpur: The much-anticipated open-air auditorium in Muzaffarpur district is nearing completion and is expected to open to the public ahead of Diwali. Built at an estimated cost of Rs.213.25 crore, the auditorium is a central component of the Sikandarpur Lake Front Project, being developed under the Smart City Mission.
Municipal Commissioner Vikram Virkar said the project has been long awaited and will provide the city with a modern public space. “The open-air auditorium is a key part of the Lake Front Project, which will not only beautify the city but also create a vibrant recreational hub,” he said.
Most of the construction has already been completed, well ahead of the official October 31, 2025 deadline. Located in the heart of Muzaffarpur, the facility is expected to become a major attraction for both residents and visitors. It will host cultural programmes, theatrical performances, and film screenings, offering families and friends a new leisure destination.
Officials say the project is poised to give a significant boost to tourism in Muzaffarpur, drawing large numbers of visitors once it opens. The Lake Front Project is among several initiatives under the Smart City Mission aimed at transforming the city’s infrastructure and public spaces.
