Patna: The President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Min Aung Hlaing, will arrive in India on May 30 for a four-day official visit, marking a significant engagement between India and Myanmar. The visit has been undertaken at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Visit Itinerary Across Bodh Gaya, Delhi and Mumbai
The President is scheduled to arrive at Bodh Gaya on May 30, where he will visit the Mahabodhi Temple and other religious sites. He is expected to be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior officials and business leaders.
On June 1, he will travel to New Delhi for bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi. The discussions are expected to cover political cooperation, regional stability, trade, connectivity and cultural exchange between the two countries.
Focus on Trade, Connectivity and Regional Cooperation
According to official inputs, the visit will also include participation in a business forum aimed at exploring investment and industrial collaboration. Both sides are expected to review ongoing initiatives under India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ and ‘Act East’ policies.
Mumbai Engagements on June 2
As part of the itinerary, the Myanmar President will also visit Mumbai on June 2, where he will attend industry and trade-related events and interact with business representatives.
Security and Administrative Preparations in Gaya
Preparations have been intensified at Gaya Airport ahead of the arrival. A three-member delegation from the Myanmar Consulate reviewed security arrangements, VVIP protocols and landing logistics.
An Advance Security Liaison meeting was also held at the airport under the chairmanship of the district administration, with officials reviewing route security, traffic management and emergency response systems.
Authorities have placed Gaya and Bodh Gaya on high alert, with enhanced deployment of security personnel and strict monitoring of key locations in view of the high-profile visit.
