NCW Chief Reviews Implementation of POSH Act in Bihar

Patna: National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar chaired a review meeting in Patna on the implementation of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013. The meeting brought together senior officials from the Bihar government to assess measures ensuring workplace safety for women.

Among those present were Additional Chief Secretary Harjot Kaur Bamrah, Additional Director General of Police Amit Kumar Jain, Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, senior officers, Internal Committee (IC) representatives from 46 state government departments, and Local Complaints Committee (LC) members from all six districts of the Patna division.

Discussions focused on strengthening mechanisms for addressing workplace harassment, reinforcing compliance with the POSH Act, and enhancing institutional support for women. The NCW underscored the need for proactive implementation to create safer work environments across Bihar.
