Patna: Preparations for the NEET UG re-examination scheduled on June 21 have intensified across Bihar, with question papers arriving in Patna aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft named “Gajraj”.
The papers were transported from Patna Airport to the designated collection centre under strict security arrangements. Authorities have also dispatched a portion of the question papers to Gayaji and Darbhanga, where they were handed over to officials under close supervision.
Enhanced Security Measures
The Bihar government has implemented heightened security protocols for the re-examination following the cancellation of the earlier NEET UG test conducted on June 3. The previous examination was annulled after allegations of a question paper leak surfaced, prompting authorities to order a fresh test.
Officials have stated that special monitoring arrangements have been put in place at examination centres and storage locations to ensure the integrity of the examination process.
Question Papers Distributed Across Centres
After reaching Patna, the question papers were distributed to various districts where the examination will be conducted. Among the key locations receiving the papers are Gayaji and Darbhanga, where officials have taken custody of the material under strict security guidelines.
The re-examination will be held across Patna and several other districts of Bihar on June 21.
Free Bus Travel for Candidates
To facilitate smooth travel for examinees, the Bihar government has announced free transportation on buses operated by the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC).
According to the Corporation, candidates will be allowed to travel free of cost to and from their examination centres. The facility will also be available on private buses operating under the Corporation’s management.
Documents Required for Free Travel
Candidates seeking free bus travel must present their NEET admit card to the conductor. Authorities have advised students to carry an additional photocopy of the admit card for submission if required.
To avail of the facility, candidates may also need to provide details such as their name, address, examination centre, and mobile number. Eligible passengers will be issued a “zero-fare” ticket, ensuring that no charge is levied for either the onward or return journey.
The state government has said the measures are aimed at ensuring a secure and hassle-free examination process for students appearing in the NEET UG re-test on June 21.
