New Delhi/Patna: Examination centres across Bihar were placed under continuous live monitoring during NEET UG 2026, with authorities deploying AI-based surveillance systems and multi-layered security protocols to ensure a transparent process.
The National Testing Agency said centres were monitored in real time from a central control room, supported by CCTV networks and artificial intelligence-enabled cameras across multiple districts.
Multi-Layered Security Protocol
Officials said a comprehensive security framework was implemented, including GPS-enabled vehicles and police escorts for the secure transportation of question papers.
Candidates underwent screening using high-sensitivity metal detectors before entering examination halls, while all centres remained under constant CCTV surveillance throughout the process.
For the first time, Aadhaar-based biometric verification was introduced for candidates, aimed at strengthening identity checks and preventing impersonation.
Minister Reviews Arrangements
Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the NTA headquarters on Sunday to review examination arrangements and assess coordination across centres nationwide.
During the visit, he examined logistics, monitoring systems and overall preparedness for conducting the examination, which is among the largest in the country.
Emphasis On Transparency
Expressing satisfaction with the arrangements, Pradhan said ensuring the smooth and fair conduct of such a large-scale examination was a priority.
He instructed officials to maintain strict vigilance and ensure that there were no lapses in transparency or fairness during the process, officials said.
Authorities described the enhanced measures as part of a broader effort to reinforce trust in the examination system through technology-driven monitoring and stricter enforcement.
