Patna: Amid the ongoing controversy over the allocation of government bungalows in Bihar, the state government has allotted the official residence at 5 Deshratna Marg to Nishant Kumar, son of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The bungalow was previously allotted to former Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary during his tenure in the state government. Following the latest allotment, Nishant Kumar is set to move into the residence.
Bungalow Earlier Occupied by Samrat Choudhary
Located in one of Patna’s prominent government residential zones, 5 Deshratna Marg had been assigned to Samrat Choudhary when he served as Deputy Chief Minister. The residence remained associated with him even after changes in the state cabinet.
The government’s decision to allot the bungalow to Nishant Kumar comes at a time when the issue of official residences and their allocation has become a subject of political discussion in Bihar.
