Patna: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is scheduled to visit Patna on October 1 to review national highway projects in Bihar and discuss the state’s infrastructure requirements with Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
Gadkari is also scheduled to participate in the Rising Bihar Investor Summit 2026, which is being held in Patna on October 1. The official summit website lists Gadkari among its key speakers and confirms the event at Hotel Taj City Centre, Patna.
NH Projects To Be Reviewed
During his Bihar visit, Gadkari is expected to review the progress of national highway projects currently under construction or development in the state.
The review will focus on the present status of projects, construction progress and issues affecting their timely completion. Officials are expected to provide an updated account of the projects and their implementation.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at the Chief Minister’s residence in Patna, where the state government will also present its requirements related to national highways.
Bihar To Raise Pending Highway Demands
The state government is expected to place its demands related to national highway development and proposed projects before the Union minister.
Bihar will also seek approval for proposals that have previously been sent to the Centre. The discussions could cover projects awaiting further approval or action at the central level.
Several highway and road projects in Bihar have previously faced delays related to approvals, financial clearances, tenders and other procedural issues. A January 2026 report had noted that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had prepared a list of Bihar projects that had received approval but were still awaiting tender or further progress.
Updated Project Report Being Prepared
The Road Construction Department is preparing an updated report on Bihar’s national highway projects ahead of the review.
The report will include the current status of projects, construction progress and key issues requiring attention. Officials are expected to use the report during discussions with the Union minister.
The review is aimed at assessing the progress of projects and identifying issues that need to be resolved for timely implementation.
Gadkari To Attend Rising Bihar Investor Summit
Before the highway review, Gadkari is scheduled to participate in the Rising Bihar Investor Summit 2026 in Patna.
The official summit website says the event will be held on October 1 from 10am onwards at Hotel Taj City Centre and will focus on Bihar’s investment opportunities, infrastructure and industrial development. Gadkari is listed among the key speakers along with Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and other Union and state ministers.
The summit is expected to bring together policymakers, industry representatives, investors and entrepreneurs for discussions on investment and business opportunities in Bihar.
Following the summit, the focus will shift to the review of national highway projects and the state’s pending demands during the meeting with the Chief Minister.
