Patna: On the last day of the year, Nitish Kumar and members of the Bihar cabinet publicly disclosed their assets, in line with transparency norms followed by the state government.
According to the declaration, Nitish Kumar reported having Rs 20,552 in cash. He holds three bank accounts: one with the State Bank of India (SBI) at the Patna Secretariat with a balance of Rs 27,217, another with SBI at Parliament House in Delhi with Rs 3,358, and a third with Punjab National Bank’s Boring Road branch in Patna containing Rs 27,191.
The chief minister’s movable assets include a Ford EcoSport car valued at Rs 11,32,753 and jewellery worth about Rs 2,03,000. Taken together, his total movable assets amount to Rs 17,66,196.

In terms of immovable property, Nitish Kumar owns a 1,000 sq ft flat—number A-305—in the Sansad Bihar Cooperative Housing Society in Dwarka, Delhi. The current market value of the flat has been declared at Rs 1.48 crore.
The disclosure, made alongside similar declarations by cabinet colleagues, is part of the annual exercise aimed at bringing greater public scrutiny to the financial holdings of elected representatives in the state.
