Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the Bihar Saras Mela-2025 at Gandhi Maidan on Thursday, inspecting arrangements and engaging with vendors showcasing local handicrafts, folk art, and regional cuisine.
The annual fair, running from December 12 to 28, features participation from across Bihar, providing a platform for producers to market their goods directly to visitors. Officials accompanying the Chief Minister reported that the displayed products were drawing significant interest, with many stalls experiencing strong sales.

During his tour, CM praised the fair’s unique identity and highlighted the government’s initiatives to promote rural entrepreneurship. He emphasised the role of Jeevika women’s self-help groups, which benefit from the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme aimed at enhancing livelihoods and encouraging self-employment.

Several stalls run by these groups were present at the fair, showcasing locally crafted products. “It is heartening to see the enthusiasm of these entrepreneurs and the positive response from the public,” CM said.
