Darbhanga: Darbhanga saw a major day of announcements as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the city and launched projects worth Rs 3,976 crore. The event was organised at the Mithila Sanskrit Research Institute in Kabraghat, where Nitish Kumar was welcomed warmly by party workers and local people. Security was tightened across the city for the Chief Minister’s arrival to ensure the programme went smoothly.
Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for 94 new development projects worth Rs 3,463.2 million. These include roads, building works, and other public infrastructure projects aimed at improving basic facilities in the region. He also launched 51 projects related to irrigation and other construction works worth Rs 465.89 million. In addition to this, the Chief Minister inaugurated 32 already completed projects worth Rs 47.74 million, covering irrigation, power supply, and other local development works.
After the foundation stone ceremony, Nitish Kumar visited the Mithila Sanskrit Research Institute campus and inspected valuable manuscripts stored there. This part of his visit highlighted the government’s focus on preserving Mithila’s rich cultural and literary heritage. Several senior leaders and ministers accompanied the Chief Minister, including JDU National Executive President Sanjay Jha, Social Welfare Minister Madan Sahni, Minister Sanjay Saraogi, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, and MP Gopal Thakur. Their presence showed the importance the government is giving to Darbhanga’s development.
Following the Darbhanga programme, Nitish Kumar travelled to Raghopur in Manigachhi, where he is set to address a large public meeting. People are expecting him to share the government’s plans for more development projects and welfare schemes in the future. Special security arrangements have been made in Raghopur as well to ensure the safety of the public and smooth conduct of the event.
