Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended celebrations at Takht Shri Harimandir Ji on Saturday to mark the 359th Prakash Parv, the birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

Participating in a programme at the Patna Sahib complex, the chief minister paid his respects at the historic gurdwara and offered prayers for peace, prosperity and the well-being of Bihar. Sikh religious leaders and members of the gurdwara’s management committee welcomed him with traditional honours, including a ceremonial sword, a shawl, a turban and a commemorative memento.

Later, CM Nitish also visited Gurdwara Bal Leela Maini Sangat, another site closely associated with Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s early life, where he again joined the congregation in prayer.

The event drew a large gathering of devotees and volunteers, alongside ministers, legislators and senior officials from the state administration. The Prakash Parv, observed annually with religious processions, kirtan and community service, is among the most important dates in the Sikh calendar and holds particular significance in Patna, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
