Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday inaugurated the Maurya Mandapam, a Rs 15 crore project developed under Patna Smart City Limited. Located within the Maurya Lok Complex and Maurya Tower, the newly renovated hub brings together a modern banquet hall, multiplex, gym, restaurant and gaming zone under one roof.
The project has also added 24,000 square feet of office space on the sixth and seventh floors of Maurya Tower for commercial use. Internal roads and manholes within the complex have been repaired, while the entire premises have been given a facelift with new lighting, fresh paint and landscaping.
Patna Smart City MD Animesh Kumar Parashar said the structure was built using light-gauge steel framing technology, which is faster and more durable than conventional concrete and brickwork.

Among the standout features is a 9,000 square foot rooftop banquet hall, designed with an insulated ceiling to reduce heat and constructed without a single pillar, offering flexibility for weddings, parties and official meetings. A multipurpose hall of 12,000 square feet has also been developed for cultural and social events.
The two-screen multiplex can seat 40 viewers per hall, while a rooftop fine dining restaurant with capacity for 80 diners has been built adjacent to it. The 8,000 square foot gym and yoga centre comes equipped with imported equipment, a steam bath and Jacuzzi. In addition, Swami Vivekananda Park has been redeveloped as part of the complex’s beautification.

Alongside the inauguration, CM Nitish laid the foundation stone for 1,300 urban infrastructure projects worth Rs 769 crore across 33 districts under the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO). The projects include new roads and drainage systems, park upgrades, high-mast lighting and other civic amenities.
“These projects reflect the state government’s commitment to development for all,” CM Nitish said, stressing that the initiatives would enhance civic infrastructure and public facilities across Bihar.
