Patna: JD(U) national president and Rajya Sabha member Nitish Kumar visited several flood-affected villages in Patna district on Sunday to assess the situation and interact with people affected by the flooding.
During the visit, Kumar said he stood with residents facing difficulties due to the floods. He also spoke by phone with Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Water Resources Minister Vijay Chaudhary to seek an update on river water levels and the flood situation.
Visit To Flood-Affected Villages
Kumar visited Punpun, Akauna, Nima, Beldarichak, Lakhna, Nihalchak, Baluachak, Devkali, Dhanrua, Veer Oriyara, Sevdaha Bigha, Avdhara, Pabheri, Jalalpur, Sahuru and Sai.
Lalan Sarraf, deputy leader of the ruling party in the Bihar Legislative Council, accompanied Kumar during the inspection.
Focus On Relief And Rescue
During his conversation with Chaudhary, Kumar sought information on the flood and water-level situation across Bihar, including Patna.
He stressed that the safety of affected families should remain the priority and that relief and rescue operations should continue with urgency.
Kumar said no affected family should feel isolated during the floods and that the government was committed to supporting those in need.
According to the statement, the administration is delivering assistance to affected residents and maintaining continuous monitoring of low-lying areas, embankments and river water levels.
