Darbhanga: Sanjay Sarawagi, who has recently been appointed as the new state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar, began his new role with a visit to the Shri Shyam Baba Temple in Jitugachi, Shivaji Nagar, Darbhanga. He offered prayers at the temple and sought blessings from Khatu Shyam, marking his first major public appearance after taking charge. Sarawagi was appointed on Monday, replacing Dilip Jaiswal, and his visit was seen as a symbolic start to his responsibilities as the party’s top leader in the state.
Sanjay Sarawagi shared details of the temple visit on social media platform X. In his post, he said that after assuming the responsibility of Bihar BJP state president, he visited the famous temple to seek strength and guidance. He said he prayed to Baba Khatu Shyam to help him carry out his duties with honesty, dedication and commitment, and to continue working towards strengthening the party organisation in Bihar. Former MLA Amarnath Gami, along with several party leaders and workers, was present during the visit.
Speaking to the media, Sarawagi also spoke about development plans for the state. He said the Bihar cabinet, chaired by chief minister Nitish Kumar, has approved the third phase of the Seven Resolutions scheme, which will be implemented from 2025 to 2030. According to him, the main aim of the scheme is to promote entrepreneurship and employment, with the idea that every household should have work opportunities and a stable source of income.
He added that the scheme includes several important steps to encourage industry, support entrepreneurs and create quality jobs for the youth of Bihar. The government, he said, is focused on making young people self-reliant and ensuring they get better employment opportunities within the state. Meanwhile, BJP national working president Nitin Nabin congratulated Sarawagi, a six-time MLA from Darbhanga, and expressed confidence that his experience and leadership would help strengthen the BJP and expand its support base across Bihar.
