Patna: The managing director of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL), Rahul Kumar, has asked engineers to accelerate work on power substation projects where land has become available and to tighten monitoring of feeder performance after a review flagged repeated breakdowns.
Chairing a video conference with electric superintending engineers (ESEs) and executive engineers (EEEs) on Monday, Rahul Kumar took stock of pending land acquisition issues that have slowed several ongoing projects. Officials were told to prioritise construction and ensure timely completion wherever land hurdles have been cleared.
The review also highlighted reliability concerns across the 33kV network in Chapra, Motihari and Muzaffarpur circles, where a higher number of feeder failures were recorded and restoration times exceeded norms in some cases. Rahul Kumar instructed the concerned officers to remain vigilant and put preventive measures in place to avoid a recurrence.

On the commercial front, the utility’s revenue review showed that a few electricity supply divisions were trailing their collection targets. Officers were directed to close the gap in the final quarter of FY 2025–26.
NBPDCL holds regular performance reviews to improve project execution, ensure quality power supply and strengthen customer service across north Bihar, officials said.
