Banka: In an unusual turn during the 2025 Bihar Assembly election nominations, Building Minister and Amarpur MLA Jayant Raj was denied entry to submit his nomination at the Banka district office on Friday due to a one-minute delay.
According to the Election Commission’s rules, nominations submitted after the deadline cannot be accepted. Jayant Raj complied with the ruling, stating, “The rules of the Election Commission are supreme. We must respect them. I will return tomorrow at the scheduled time to submit my nomination.”
The incident sparked disappointment among thousands of supporters present at the venue. Yet, the minister’s disciplined response and respect for electoral regulations drew widespread appreciation. Jayant Raj is now expected to file his nomination on Saturday.
