Patna: Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, was released from Beur Jail after being granted bail in all three cases against him. His release came six days after he was sent to jail following his arrest on 7 February from his residence in Mandiri, Patna. As soon as he stepped out of prison, his supporters gathered in large numbers and welcomed him with slogans and cheers, creating an emotional and energetic atmosphere outside the jail premises.
Speaking to the media after his release, Yadav made serious allegations, claiming that leaders from Delhi, Purnia and Patna had conspired to kill him. He said he had always fought against injustice and would continue to do so, no matter how difficult the situation became. Raising the slogan “Satyameva Jayate”, he said the truth would always win. He added that the court and the people were the only real powers in a democracy and that he trusted them more than anyone else.
Yadav also spoke about the humiliation he faced during the past few days. He said he was excluded from the House for seven days and felt he was deliberately targeted to break his spirit. However, he said the support of the public, the judiciary and the media gave him strength. According to him, without this support, he might not have survived the pressure and threats he faced.
Soon after leaving jail, Yadav went to Phulwari Sharif to meet the family of a student who recently died under suspicious circumstances after falling from the fourth floor of a coaching centre. The family has called the incident a murder and demanded a proper investigation. Yadav assured them that he would stand by them and fight for justice. He said he would continue to raise his voice for the safety and rights of daughters across Bihar and would not rest until the truth comes out.
