Patna: Cold and foggy weather affected air travel at Patna airport on Saturday, causing delays to several flights during the day. Although visibility problems were reported in many parts of the country, the situation in Patna was better than on earlier days. Airport officials confirmed that no flights were cancelled, but passengers had to wait longer than usual because many services arrived and departed late.
In total, 23 flights connected to Patna were delayed due to fog in different cities. Of these, 13 were arriving flights and 10 were departing flights. Most delays ranged from one to two hours. The poor weather conditions in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai had a direct impact on flight schedules, even though Patna itself did not experience severe disruption.
Several outgoing flights from Patna were affected. An IndiGo flight to Bengaluru departed almost two hours late, while an Air India Express flight to Delhi left about one hour behind its scheduled time. Other IndiGo flights to Ranchi, Chandigarh and Lucknow were also delayed, with waiting times ranging from one hour to nearly two and a half hours. These delays caused inconvenience to passengers, especially those with connecting journeys.
Incoming flights were also delayed throughout the day. Around 10 flights arriving from major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai reached Patna 30 to 45 minutes late. Airport authorities advised passengers to stay alert and check updated flight information before travelling, as foggy winter conditions are likely to continue and may affect flight timings in the coming days.
