Patna: An alleged case of molestation involving a young woman at Patna Airport has prompted a police investigation, with the accused taken into custody and brought to the airport police station for questioning.
According to officials, the incident came to light after people present at the scene intervened and handed the man over to airport security personnel, who later transferred him to the police station.
Investigation Underway
Police said they are currently verifying the sequence of events. Statements are being recorded from individuals present in the airport cafeteria at the time of the incident to establish the facts.
Officials added that no written complaint has been filed by the woman so far, though verbal accounts are being considered as part of the preliminary inquiry.
Accused In Custody
Airport Station House Officer Sunil Kumar Jaiswal said the matter is under verification and a final conclusion will be drawn only after the investigation is complete.
He stated that during questioning, the accused denied the allegation and claimed there had been no molestation.
The SHO also said the man offered an explanation regarding his condition at the time, and added that the individual “does not appear to be mentally sound,” noting that further assessment is underway as part of the inquiry.
Police Verification Continues
Officials confirmed that the investigation remains open, with police awaiting clearer evidence and additional statements before determining further legal action.
The case is currently being examined based on witness accounts and on-ground verification at the airport premises.
