Patna: The 17th Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Provider Course was conducted at AIIMS Patna, focusing on adult, child and infant resuscitation techniques.
The programme was organised by the Department of Paediatrics, AIIMS Patna, in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, aiming to strengthen emergency response capabilities among healthcare professionals.
Inauguration and Key Address
The course was inaugurated by Prof. (Brig.) Dr. Raju Agarwal, Executive Director of AIIMS Patna. He emphasised the importance of timely and effective CPR in improving survival outcomes during medical emergencies.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the Department of Paediatrics and the IAP in expanding structured CPR training and building emergency care capacity.

Participation and Training Modules
The training witnessed participation from doctors, nursing officers, nursing students and paramedical staff from various healthcare institutions.
According to the organisers, the course included structured lectures, interactive discussions and simulation-based hands-on training aligned with the latest Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR guidelines.
Participants were trained in recognising and managing cardiac arrest and other life-threatening emergencies across different age groups, with emphasis on rapid response and practical skill development.
Faculty and Coordination
The academic sessions were led by Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Course Director, along with Dr. Chandra Mohan Kumar, Professor and Head of the Department of Paediatrics, and Dr. Arun Prasad, senior faculty member. Dr. Puneet Kumar Choudhary served as course coordinator.
The faculty team included Dr. Arun Prasad, Dr. Suman Mishra, Dr. Neeta Kevlani, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Dr. Amit Kumar and Dr. Sweta, who contributed to the training and execution of the programme.
Officials stated that the successful completion of the 17th CPR Provider Course reflects AIIMS Patna’s continued focus on strengthening emergency preparedness and improving life-saving competencies among healthcare professionals.
