Patna: Jayaprakash Narayan International (JPNI) airport in Patna has made its third passenger boarding bridge operational, marking another step in efforts to improve the travel experience for passengers. The new aerobridge has been activated at boarding gate number 11 from January 24, 2026.

Airport officials said the facility was commissioned after receiving the required approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The addition is expected to streamline boarding and disembarkation, particularly during peak travel hours.
The first flight to use the new aerobridge was SpiceJet flight SEJ672 from Bengaluru, which arrived in Patna carrying 188 passengers. The aircraft was parked at bay number 9 and utilised the newly commissioned bridge, signalling the start of its regular use.
Shortly after, SpiceJet’s departure flight SEJ674 to Bengaluru took off with 187 passengers on board, formally inaugurating the operational phase of the third aerobridge. Airport authorities described the back-to-back arrival and departure as a smooth start to the new facility.
With boarding gate number 11 now active, officials said passenger movement within the terminal is expected to become more organised, reducing congestion and improving overall efficiency. JPNI airport authorities reiterated their commitment to ongoing infrastructure development and to providing safe, efficient and passenger-friendly services.
