Patna: A car and an auto-rickshaw collided on Atal Path in Patna on Tuesday, leaving two people injured after the car broke through a roadside railing and overturned.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicles struck each other head-on in the Gandhi Maidan traffic police station area. The impact severely damaged the front of the auto-rickshaw, while the car skidded, hit the divider railing and flipped over in the middle of the road.
Traffic police arrived at the scene after passersby alerted emergency services via Dial-112. By the time officers reached the spot, the injured had already been taken for medical treatment. A crowd gathered as police worked to clear the damaged vehicles and restore traffic flow.
Brajesh Chauhan, the traffic police station in-charge, said two people had sustained injuries and were admitted to private hospitals. One is being treated at Ruban Hospital and the other at Patna Medical College Hospital.
The identities of the injured are yet to be confirmed. Police have removed the damaged vehicle to the Gandhi Maidan traffic police station and, with assistance from the Digha police station, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
