Patna: Copper pipes from three split air-conditioning units were allegedly stolen from Bihar Gramin Bank in the Gosai Tola area of Patna. The stolen material is estimated to be worth around Rs 25,000, according to the bank manager.
Staff Discover Theft
The incident came to light after the bank opened on September 11. Staff members found that the external copper pipes connected to three split AC units were missing.
According to bank manager Manish Verma, unidentified persons are suspected to have cut and removed the pipes. Verma, a resident of Magadh Colony under Beur police station, subsequently lodged a complaint at Patliputra police station.
Police Investigation Sought
In his complaint to the Station House Officer, Verma stated that the market value of the stolen copper pipes was approximately Rs 25,000.
The bank manager has requested the police to investigate the theft and identify those responsible. Further details about the investigation were not provided in the complaint.
