Patna: A joint operation by the Drug Department and Agamkuan police has led to the arrest of two teenagers in Patna City and the recovery of a substantial consignment of banned drug-use injections.
Police identified the suspects as Vikrant Kumar, 19, and Bhola Paswan, 19. Both were detained after officers allegedly found a large stock of restricted pharmaceutical injections commonly used in substance abuse.
Patna City police sub-divisional officer Rajkishore Singh said officers had acted on a tip-off about two men storing banned materials in the Lal Jhula area, behind Dawood Bigha Field near the Bhootnath vegetable market. “When the team reached the location, the accused attempted to flee but were chased down and arrested,” Singh said.
Authorities have launched a wider investigation into the supply chain behind the seized injections. Police are working to establish the source of the substances, the network involved in distributing them and whether more individuals are linked to the smuggling operation.
