Patna: Passengers at Patna Airport have been facing serious inconvenience over the past few days as several IndiGo flights were suddenly cancelled. Many travellers complained that they had not received proper information beforehand, which led to confusion at the terminal. To address the issue, Airport Director C.P. Dwivedi held a press conference and explained why the cancellations occurred and what is being done to help passengers.
Dwivedi said that some IndiGo flights will remain cancelled until December 15 because of technical problems affecting the airline’s aircraft across India. He admitted that some passengers did not get complete information in time, which added to their frustration. However, he stressed that the situation has now come under control and normal operations are gradually returning.
He explained that the issue was not limited to Patna. IndiGo has been facing technical challenges nationwide, and some aircraft were not available for flying. Because of this, the airline had to temporarily reduce flights on many routes. At Patna Airport, IndiGo usually operates around 40 to 50 flights daily, but this number decreased in recent days. Dwivedi said the airline has now started restoring flights, and most services are running smoothly again.
To support stranded passengers, the airport set up a Railway Help Desk so that those with urgent travel needs could find alternative arrangements. Dwivedi added that airport staff addressed passenger queries on priority and shared regular updates on social media to avoid misinformation. He said the communication gap that left some passengers uninformed has now been fixed. The airport is also closely monitoring the situation to ensure every traveller receives accurate and timely information.
