Patna: The Patna Civil Court on Tuesday granted interim protection from arrest to Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir and director of Khan Global Studies, while hearing matters related to an FIR filed against him and others.
Court Order and Interim Relief
The District Judge’s court directed that no coercive action be taken against the accused until further orders. The court also sought the case diary from the police for further examination of the matter.
The order effectively places a temporary stay on arrest proceedings while the court considers the anticipatory bail application.
Anticipatory Bail Plea
A day earlier, Khan Sir’s legal counsel had moved an anticipatory bail petition before the District and Sessions Judge. The plea was filed by advocate Arvind Kumar Mauar, seeking protection from arrest in connection with the FIR.
Khan Sir has been named in a case registered under provisions of the Arms Act along with other allegations arising from the incident.
Related Proceedings in Connected Cases
In parallel proceedings, hearings were also conducted on Monday in petitions related to Roshan Anand, director of Gyan Bindu Coaching, along with two security personnel identified as Deepak Kumar and Talebar Singh.
Arguments were heard by Judicial Magistrate First Class Anurag Verma. The court has directed police to submit all relevant evidence, with the next hearing scheduled for June 10.
A verdict in the Roshan Anand matter is expected on Tuesday, after the judgment was reserved following Monday’s hearing. Students had also organised a candlelight march seeking his release.
Background of the Case
The case stems from an alleged disturbance reported at Khan Sir’s coaching institute on the night of June 2. FIRs were subsequently registered by both sides involved in the incident, leading to multiple legal proceedings in the matter.
