Patna: A couple faces legal action after a video showing them allegedly engaging in public displays of affection while riding a motorcycle dangerously on Patna’s JP Ganga Path, popularly known as Marine Drive, went viral on social media.
The Patna Traffic Police registered a case at Gandhi Maidan Traffic Police Station and initiated further investigation into the incident.
Case Registered At Gandhi Maidan Traffic Police Station
According to a press release issued by the Patna Traffic Police, the station house officer of Gandhi Maidan Traffic Police Station investigated the viral video.
The investigation found that the incident took place around 5.30pm on September 5. The man and woman were travelling on a Splendor motorcycle from Krishna Ghat towards Digha Golambar.
Police said the rider was allegedly driving dangerously while the woman seated behind him engaged in intimate acts with him.
The motorcycle was identified by its registration number, BR01JU-7693.

FIR Filed Under BNS Section 281
Police have registered Case No. 203/26 under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, against the rider and owner of the motorcycle, identified as Deepak Kumar of Mogalpura in Patna City.
The woman accompanying him has not yet been identified, according to the police.
Police Warn Against Dangerous Social Media Stunts
The viral video appears to show the motorcycle being ridden at speed while the woman leans towards the rider. Police said such behaviour can put the riders as well as other road users at risk.
Traffic police said strict action would be taken against people who violate traffic rules while attempting to create reels or gain publicity on social media.
Further investigation is underway. Police are also taking steps to seize the motorcycle and arrest the accused, according to the press release.
