Patna: The District Magistrate of Patna conducted an inspection of the Phulwarisharif–Janipur Road and directed officials to expedite the ongoing road development works. This inspection follows the Chief Minister’s announcement during the Pragati Yatra on February 21, 2025, regarding the widening of the AIIMS Golambar–Janipur–Painapur–Neva stretch and the construction of a new bridge near Naubatpur Lakh.
According to the District Magistrate, both infrastructure projects received government approval on February 25 and are now being implemented by the Road Construction Department. The work involves the widening and strengthening of a 10.5 km stretch from AIIMS Golambar to Neva, extending up to Patna Ring Road.
The Executive Engineer of the Path Division, Patna West, has been instructed to oversee the project’s execution. The District Magistrate emphasized that the upgraded connectivity to Patna Ring Road will significantly contribute to the development of areas like Phulwarisharif, AIIMS, Danapur, and Naubatpur, while also easing long-standing traffic congestion issues.
Officials expect that upon completion, the improved road infrastructure will catalyse economic activity and improve urban mobility in Patna’s rapidly growing western zone.
