Patna: A double-decker bus offering hotel-like amenities has become a popular attraction on Patna’s JP Ganga Path, allowing passengers to combine sightseeing with celebrations for a modest fee. For Rs 4,000 per trip, residents can host birthdays, anniversaries, or other gatherings on the air-conditioned bus.
Operating daily between 5 pm and 10 pm, the bus travels from Digha Ghat to Kangan Ghat, covering prominent city landmarks along the route. The 40-seat bus – evenly split between its upper and lower decks – features a restroom, refrigerator, and an on-board guide who provides historical context for sites such as Sabhyata Dwar, Darbhanga House, Gandhi Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi Setu, and Chitragupta Temple.
Since its launch, the Bihar Tourism Development Corporation reports that over 4,000 tourists have enjoyed the service between September and January. Regular fares are set at Rs 50 for a one-way journey or Rs 100 for a round trip, making the bus both a sightseeing option and an affordable party venue for locals and visitors alike.
