Patna: The Bihar government has appointed 533 new notaries across all its districts. The Law Department released the merit list on Tuesday after conducting interviews from 16 to 30 June for these positions.
Patna district has received the highest number of notaries with 95 appointments. Officials said this is because Patna has a large population and a high number of legal works that require certified notaries.
Bhagalpur has been given 36 notaries, Purnia 34, and Gaya 27. Munger and Nawada districts have each received 19 notaries. Samastipur has 18, Katihar 17, while Nalanda, Saran, Supaul, Vaishali, and Madhepura have been allotted 15 each.
Some districts have received very few appointments. Jamui has only one new notary, while Buxar, Darbhanga, and Sheikhpura have two each. The government said these appointments will help people get their documents certified without delays in their districts.
