Patna: A shocking murder case created panic in Patna on Saturday morning after an unknown intruder allegedly entered a house in the Lalbagh area and attacked a husband and wife with a sharp-edged weapon. The incident took place under the Pirbahore police station area and quickly spread fear across the neighbourhood. The attack claimed the life of 30-year-old Nawaz Alam, while his wife, Nazia Parveen, suffered serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment in hospital. Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information and immediately began an investigation into the brutal crime.
According to local residents, the attacker entered the couple’s house early in the morning when most people in the locality were still asleep. Initial investigation suggests that the intruder may have entered the home to steal a mobile phone. However, the situation reportedly turned violent when the couple resisted the theft attempt. During the struggle, the accused allegedly attacked both of them with a knife-like weapon before escaping from the scene. Nawaz Alam died on the spot due to severe injuries, especially deep wounds on his neck, while his wife was found in critical condition.
The horrifying condition inside the house shocked even experienced police officers. Blood was reportedly splattered across the room, from the floor to the walls and ceiling, showing the intensity of the attack. Soon after the incident, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was called to collect evidence from the crime scene. Police officers also began checking CCTV cameras installed near the area to identify the attacker and track the escape route. Investigators are questioning neighbours and local residents to gather more information related to the incident.
Residents of Lalbagh said the couple was known in the area and lived a simple life. Nawaz Alam reportedly worked as a salesman at a local mall and was described by neighbours as a hardworking person. The incident has left people in the locality frightened, with many expressing concern over rising crime in residential areas during early morning hours. Police officials said all possible angles are being investigated, including the possibility that the crime may have been planned in advance.
The injured woman remains under medical supervision, and police are waiting for her statement, which may provide important clues about the attacker. Meanwhile, authorities have increased their investigation efforts and assured residents that the accused will be identified soon. The murder has once again raised serious questions about public safety and security in Patna’s residential neighbourhoods.
