Patna: The Income Tax Department is set to get a new residential complex in Patna after the district administration transferred eight acres of Bihar State Housing Board land near the TV Tower for the project.
The department had sought 10 acres from the administration, which has allocated eight acres. The land is expected to be used for developing a modern residential complex for Income Tax Department officers and employees, along with space for expanding its office infrastructure.
The Income Tax Department’s main office is currently located on Bailey Road, but it does not have a dedicated residential complex for its staff and officers in the city.
The transfer of land is part of a series of land allocation decisions being taken by the district administration for government institutions.
Kadamkuan Police Station To Move Temporarily
Meanwhile, the Kadamkuan police station is set to move out of the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium complex as redevelopment work begins at the stadium.
The district administration has proposed temporarily shifting the police station to the BSNL office near McDowell Golambar.
The administration is searching for around 50 decimals of land for a permanent police station building. Since acquiring the land and constructing the new building is expected to take two to three years, the BSNL premises are being considered as an interim location.
Five Acres Sought For Jeevika Office
The district administration is also considering the allocation of five acres of land for a new Jeevika office.
The Rural Development Department has requested the land. Jeevika’s state-level office is currently operating temporarily from Vidyut Bhawan-2, while its district office is located in Biscomaun Tower.
The organisation has established more than 11 lakh self-help groups across 534 blocks in all 38 districts of Bihar, according to the information provided by the administration.
