Patna: Patna Traffic Police has introduced a special traffic plan for today in view of the expected influx of devotees at the ISKCON Temple for Krishna Janmashtami.
The arrangements are aimed at ensuring the safety of devotees and maintaining traffic flow around the temple and adjoining areas. According to Traffic SP Sagar Kumar, the restrictions will remain in force from the morning until the conclusion of the Janmashtami celebrations.
🚦 Key traffic restrictions
- 🚫 No vehicles on Buddha Marg: Private cars, auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws and mini-buses will not be allowed on Buddha Marg or towards the ISKCON Temple.
- 🚧 GPO Flyover: Vehicles coming from the GPO flyover towards Buddha Marg will be restricted.
- ⛔ Adalatganj route: Traffic movement will be stopped on both sides of the Adalatganj route.
- 🔄 Kotwali diversion: Vehicles coming from the Kotwali side will be diverted via Dakbungalow Crossing towards Patna Junction.
- ↪️ Under GPO Flyover: Vehicles heading towards the ISKCON Temple from beneath the GPO flyover will be diverted towards R-Block.
- 🚧 Fraser Road: Traffic movement from Fraser Road towards Srinivas Path will face restrictions.
- 🚫 Bandar Bagicha: Vehicles from Bandar Bagicha towards Buddha Marg will also be restricted.
🅿️ Parking arrangements
To accommodate vehicles outside the restricted zone, parking facilities have been arranged at:
- 🅿️ Maurya Lok
- 🅿️ Buddha Smriti Park
- 🅿️ GPO
- 🅿️ Multi-Modal Hub
- 🅿️ Miller High School premises
Devotees are advised to use these designated parking areas and avoid taking vehicles into the restricted zone.
👮 Security and traffic deployment
The Traffic Police has deployed three DSPs, 50 police officers and 100 personnel to manage traffic and crowd movement.
The Dolphin Team and mobile units from Traffic Outposts will also conduct continuous patrols in and around the event area.
📱 Police alert against theft
Police will maintain close surveillance on suspected anti-social elements to prevent incidents such as mobile phone and purse theft amid the crowds.
Devotees have been advised to remain vigilant and take care of their phones, wallets, bags and other belongings while attending the Janmashtami celebrations.
The special traffic arrangements will remain in force throughout Friday’s celebrations and are intended to ensure safe and orderly movement for devotees as well as other commuters in central Patna.
