Patna: A cargo vehicle overturned on the JP Ganga Setu bridge in Patna on Wednesday, leaving the driver seriously injured and causing brief traffic disruption on the busy Patna-Didarganj-Bakhtiyarpur route.
The vehicle, reportedly loaded with old books and notebooks, flipped in the middle of the road, scattering its contents and triggering chaos at the scene. Local residents rushed to assist the injured driver, who was later taken to hospital for treatment. His condition remains unknown.
Police arrived shortly after the incident and have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Officers are currently gathering details about the vehicle’s origin and destination.
The accident is the latest in a string of road mishaps in Bihar, where speeding and poor road safety continue to pose serious risks. Authorities managed to restore traffic flow within a short time, but the incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for stricter enforcement of transport regulations.
