Patna: Thieves allegedly broke into a locked flat at Aangan Apartment on Jagat Narayan Road under Kadamkuan police station on Sunday night and fled with gold and silver jewellery and cash.

The burglars reportedly attempted to break into three flats in the apartment complex but failed to open the locks of two. They then used a large cutter to cut the lock of Dr R.K. Sinha’s flat and entered the premises.

Family Was Away In Ujjain

According to the information available, Dr Sinha’s family had left for Ujjain on Friday to visit the Mahakal temple.

The burglars allegedly targeted the flat while the family was away and searched the premises before fleeing with valuables and cash.

Neighbours Found Doors Latched

The thieves also allegedly latched the doors of some neighbouring flats from the outside, apparently preventing residents from leaving while the burglary was taking place.

Neighbour Simmi Jha said she discovered in the morning that the doors of her flat and her sister-in-law’s flat had been latched from outside. A relative subsequently helped them open the doors.

The door of Dr Sinha’s flat was found open. On inspection, the main door lock was found cut and the family’s belongings had been disturbed. Gold and silver jewellery and cash were found missing.

Police Examine CCTV Footage

After receiving information about the burglary, Kadamkuan police reached the apartment and began investigating the incident.

Police examined the crime scene and started reviewing CCTV footage from cameras installed inside the apartment complex and in the surrounding area.

Investigators are working to identify the suspects and establish how they entered and left the apartment complex.
