Patna: Women travelling from Patna towards Masaurhi, Jahanabad and Hulasganj will get a new public transport option from September 21, 2026, with the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) set to start an AC Pink Bus service on the route.
The service, which currently operates within Patna for women, will be extended beyond the city under the new route. BSRTC has already conducted a trial run and completed preparations for regular operations.
Bus To Run From Gandhi Maidan
The AC Pink Bus will start from Gandhi Maidan and travel through Zero Mile, ISBT, Sampatchak, Beldari Chak, Beer and Dhanrua.
The route will then cover Kolhachak, Masaurhi and Jahanabad before reaching Hulasganj, the final destination. Women travelling from locations along the route will also be able to use the service.
Single Bus To Operate Initially
BSRTC plans to begin the service with one AC Pink Bus. The corporation may increase the number of buses later depending on passenger demand and operational requirements.
The service is expected to provide an additional direct transport option for women travelling for work, education and other essential activities between Patna and the surrounding areas.
Fares Fixed By Destination
BSRTC has fixed fares according to the distance travelled. The fare from Gandhi Maidan will be Rs 25 to Zero Mile, Rs 30 to ISBT, Rs 40 to Sampatchak, Rs 61 to Beldari Chak and Rs 71 to Beer.
The fare will be Rs 82 to Dhanrua and Rs 91 to Kolhachak. Passengers travelling to Masaurhi will pay Rs 104, while the fare to Jahanabad will be Rs 120 and to Hulasganj Rs 155.
The extension of the Pink Bus service beyond Patna will connect several important locations on the Patna–Hulasganj route, with further expansion possible if passenger demand increases.
