Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation has deployed a team of town planners and architects to verify property tax assessments for commercial and large properties as part of its ongoing revenue augmentation drive.
Following the deployment of revenue and sanitation teams, five town planners and two architects have now been integrated into the campaign.
Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena has directed all Executive Officers to ensure that large malls, market complexes, banquet halls, hospitals, land parcels and other properties in their respective zones are reassessed through on-site inspections by the expert team.
Necessary action will be taken based on the inspections and daily reports submitted by the experts.
Properties To Be Checked With Modern Equipment
The expert team will use modern equipment to verify the actual area of properties against approved blueprints and existing property tax assessments.
If discrepancies are detected, the team will submit detailed reports to the concerned zone along with photographs, videos and other supporting evidence.
Where incorrect information has been provided, the actual area has been concealed or other discrepancies in assessment are found, the property will be reassessed and a penalty imposed.
Two experts have been deployed each in the Nutan Rajdhani and Pataliputra zones, while one expert each has been assigned to Kankarbagh and Bankipur and one to Patna City and Azimabad.

The campaign aims to bring more properties under the tax net, ensure accurate assessments and accelerate property tax collection.
