Patna Mayor Sita Sahu’s Son Shishir Sahu Flees Bihar; Police to Cancel his Arms Licence

Patna mayor Sita Sahu’s son Shishir Sahu has fled Bihar after police raids to arrest him; authorities plan to cancel his and his bodyguard’s arms licences.

Patna:  Shishir Sahu, the son of Patna mayor Sita Sahu, has reportedly fled Bihar after police conducted raids to arrest him. Police teams reached the mayor’s residence recently, but Shishir was not found at home. The raid led to a mild scuffle between officers and the mayor’s supporters gathered outside the house, who were protesting against the action.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K Sharma said verification is underway for the weapons licensed to Shishir Sahu and his bodyguard, and both licences will be cancelled.

The crackdown follows a recent incident during a Patna Municipal Corporation Board meeting. Former mayor Vinay Kumar Pappu alleged that Shishir Sahu attended the meeting without authorisation and misbehaved with council members. When councillors began to boycott the meeting and leave, a scuffle reportedly broke out between Shishir and Vinay Kumar Pappu. Shishir later claimed he was there as a councilor representative.
