Patna: The son of Patna Mayor Sita Sahu, Shishir Kumar, has surfaced in a video after being sought by police in connection with an alleged case of intimidation and assault. In the clip released online, Kumar proclaimed his innocence, criticised the administration’s actions, and said he would cooperate only when the police formally request him to appear.
Kumar, who identified himself as a member of the BJP State Working Committee and a representative of the Mayor, claimed he was being wrongly targeted. “The action taken by the administration is incorrect,” he stated, urging officials not to act under political pressure.
“I request the administration to examine the CCTV footage and meeting records. This is Nitish Kumar’s government; the system should not be influenced by anyone,” he said in the video. He also clarified that he is currently in the city and not on the run. “Do not panic. When you are satisfied with your investigation and request me, I will present myself,” he added.
Kumar insisted that a police complaint alone does not prove guilt. “Just because a case has been filed does not mean Shishir Kumar is guilty. I will neither be afraid nor bow down,” he said.
