Patna: MEMU Special Train Between Rajgir and Patna Extended Until December 31
Patna: The railway administration has announced the extension of the MEMU special train service running between Rajgir and Patna until December 31, 2024. Initially, the service was scheduled to end on September 30, but due to increased passenger demand, it has been extended for three more months.
Train number 03201 departs from Rajgir at 6:30 am and arrives in Patna at 10:00 am. The return journey, train number 03202, departs from Patna at 8:55 pm and reaches Rajgir at 11:55 pm. This train stops at several stations along the route, including Silav, Nalanda, Pawapuri Road, Biharsharif, Chena, Harnaut, Karanauti, Bakhtiyarpur, Teka Bigha, Karota, Khusrupur, Hardas Bigha, Fatuha, Bakhtiyarpur, Patna Sahib, and Rajendra Nagar Terminal.
The extension of this train service has not only benefited daily passengers but has also become a convenient option for employees working at the Harnaut Rail Coach Factory. Those commuting between Bihar Sharif, Rajgir, and Patna have welcomed this affordable and efficient travel option.
Additionally, the MEMU service has eased the burden on the Shramjeevi Express, which previously faced heavy passenger traffic. The MEMU train now provides a direct and reliable option for night-time travelers between Patna, Bihar Sharif, and Rajgir, an area that lacked convenient train connections in the past.
Local businesses and tourism industry stakeholders have expressed their support for the extension. They believe that this will encourage more visitors to explore the region, promoting tourism and boosting the local economy. The continuation of the MEMU service is seen as a positive step in enhancing connectivity and economic growth in the region.
