Patna: Patna Metro is preparing to extend metro services up to Malahi Pakri Metro Station, with the station now fully completed and awaiting final operational clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS).
Officials said the inauguration date would be finalised once the mandatory approval process was completed.
Metro services are currently operational between the New Patliputra Bus Terminal and Bhutnath Metro Station on the Red Line corridor.
Station Infrastructure Fully Completed
Authorities said the Malahi Pakri station infrastructure was fully ready for passenger use.
The station features:
- a ticketing and inspection area on the first floor
- passenger platforms on the second floor
- artwork and murals commissioned to enhance the station’s appearance
Located at the junction of Hanuman Nagar Road and Patliputra Stadium Road, the station has been designed with dual-side access to improve passenger convenience.
Passengers arriving from both the Hanuman Nagar side and the Patliputra Stadium side will be able to access metro services without crossing the road.
Officials estimate the station could benefit nearly 100,000 passengers in the surrounding areas.
Parking facilities are also expected to be introduced in the near future.
Fare Between ISBT And Malahi Pakri Fixed At Rs 30
The fare structure for the Red Line corridor has already been finalised.
According to the current system:
- journeys between 0–3km are priced at Rs 15
- journeys between 3–6km are priced at Rs 30
At present, passengers travelling between Bhutnath and ISBT pay Rs 15.
Once operations are extended to Malahi Pakri, the fare between ISBT and Malahi Pakri will increase to Rs 30.

CMRS Inspection Completed
The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety conducted a final inspection of the station and related infrastructure on April 27.
Following the inspection, the CMRS submitted a report identifying several deficiencies requiring attention.
Patna Metro officials said the issues highlighted in the report had since been addressed or clarified, and a revised compliance report had been resubmitted to the CMRS.
Authorities are now awaiting final approval to begin commercial metro operations up to Malahi Pakri station.
