Patna: The Standing Committee of the Patna Municipal Corporation approved several key proposals on Saturday during a meeting focused on urban development, sanitation, revenue collection, and civic infrastructure.
The meeting was chaired by Sita Sahu and attended by Reshmi Chandravanshi, Yashpal Meena, Standing Committee members, and councillors from various wards.
Focus on Revenue and Development
During the meeting, members reviewed the Corporation’s ongoing initiatives and discussed future development strategies for the city. Several agenda items aimed at improving sanitation services, increasing municipal revenue, and enhancing the city’s appearance received approval.
Committee members also offered suggestions to strengthen the Corporation’s functioning and improve the delivery of public services.
A major focus of the discussions was on identifying new measures to enhance revenue collection. Officials said higher revenue would support the faster implementation of development projects and civic infrastructure works across Patna.
Sanitation and Waste Management Prioritised
The Standing Committee also discussed ways to strengthen the city’s cleanliness drive and improve waste management systems.
Officials emphasised the need for more effective sanitation mechanisms to ensure better public hygiene and efficient disposal of municipal waste.
Commissioner Reviews Progress of Schemes
Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena briefed members on the status of various ongoing schemes being implemented by the Corporation.
He said the administration is working continuously to make Patna a cleaner, more organised, and aesthetically improved city. According to the Commissioner, expanding civic amenities and strengthening infrastructure development remain key priorities of the Corporation.
Commitment to Holistic Urban Development
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Municipal Corporation administration reiterated its commitment to the city’s overall development and to improving public facilities.
Officials stated that several projects are expected to move into the implementation phase in the coming months based on the recommendations and decisions approved by the Standing Committee.
