Patna: The construction of the Parsa-Sampatchak four-lane road is expected to gather pace from November, with the project involving the widening of a 6.8-km stretch at a cost of Rs 330.24 crore.
The existing road will be widened to 14 metres to accommodate increased traffic between Parsa and Sampatchak. The project also includes the construction of nine bridges and culverts along the route.
Land Acquisition Begins In Three Villages
Land acquisition for the road-widening project has started in Rahimpur, Parsa and Chatna villages.
A total of 1.57 acres of land is proposed to be acquired across the three villages. Progress on the land acquisition process is expected to allow the construction work to move ahead more quickly.
Nine Bridges And Culverts Included
Apart from widening the road, the project includes the construction of nine bridges and culverts at different points along the route.
The additional structures are planned as part of the overall road development and are intended to support smoother movement along the upgraded corridor.
Traffic Pressure Increased After Mithapur-Mahuli Elevated Road
The need to widen the Parsa-Sampatchak road has increased with the rise in traffic following the opening of the Mithapur-Mahuli Elevated Road.
With more vehicles using the Parsa-Sampatchak route, the proposed four-laning is aimed at increasing the road’s traffic-handling capacity.
Around Five Lakh People Expected To Benefit
The upgraded road is expected to improve daily connectivity for around five lakh people living in and around the Parsa-Sampatchak corridor.
A wider four-lane road is expected to provide additional carriageway space for vehicles travelling between Parsa and Sampatchak, potentially easing movement along the existing route.
Road Connects Parsa And Sampatchak Through Chipura, Badlachak
The existing road connects Parsa Bazaar with Sampatchak Bazaar, passing through Chipura and Badlachak.
The same corridor will be widened under the project, creating a broader road connection between the two areas.
Construction Expected To Gain Pace From November
With land acquisition underway, construction activity on the Parsa-Sampatchak four-lane project is expected to accelerate from November.
The work will cover land acquisition, road widening and construction of the nine bridges and culverts. Once completed, the upgraded corridor will provide a wider road connection between Parsa and Sampatchak.
