Patna: Petrol and diesel prices in Patna have inched up once again, causing concern among households already grappling with rising living costs. According to local market data, petrol is now priced at Rs 105.58 per litre, up from Rs 105.23 on Monday, while diesel has risen slightly from Rs 91.77 to Rs 91.82 per litre.
Although the increases may appear minor, for ordinary consumers the cumulative impact is significant. “Even small daily changes in fuel prices can strain household budgets, particularly when inflation is already high,” said a local economist.
The rise also has wider economic implications. Diesel, widely used in agriculture, freight, and small-scale transport, affects both supply chains and business operations. Experts note that domestic fuel prices are influenced by international crude oil rates, the dollar-rupee exchange, and tax policies. Despite relative stability in global crude markets, domestic rates continue to fluctuate within a narrow band.
While petrol and diesel costs have increased, domestic LPG consumers are seeing some relief. A 14.2 kg LPG cylinder remains priced at Rs 942.50, and CNG continues to be available at Rs 84.54 per kg in Bihar. Nevertheless, the steady rise in fuel prices underscores the growing financial pressure faced by ordinary citizens in a market already affected by inflation.
