Patna: Patna Police have busted an alleged prostitution racket operating from Ganpati Guest House in the Ghuddaud area under Rajiv Nagar police station, detaining four young women and a man during a joint raid on Saturday.
The operation was carried out by a team from Patna Police and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the SSP Cell. The guest house operates from a G+4 building, and police conducted a search of the premises from the ground floor to the top floor. Two IPS-rank officers also reached the location during the operation to oversee the investigation.
Four women and one man detained
Police searched rooms across the building and recovered items including condoms during the operation. The four women and the man were taken to Rajiv Nagar police station for questioning.
Police and technical teams are now investigating the alleged network, including how customers were contacted, who was operating it and how long the activity had allegedly been taking place.

Operator and staff escape
According to police, the guest house’s alleged main operator and staff members fled through the rear exit after learning about the raid. Some other men who were considered suspicious also managed to escape.
Police are working to identify the absconding operator and staff members and have launched raids at suspected locations to apprehend them.
SIU had been tracking activity for two months
Sushma Sagar, SDPO-2 (Law and Order), said police had been receiving information about suspicious activities at the guest house for some time.
“Information regarding suspicious activities at the guest house had been coming in for quite some time. The SIU team had been preparing to catch the perpetrators red-handed for about two months,” she said.
According to Sagar, police received information on Saturday that young men and women were present inside rooms at the guest house, following which the team conducted the raid.
“During the search, four young women were found in compromising positions in various rooms. The police are investigating the entire matter,” she said.
The investigation is continuing to establish the alleged racket’s operation, identify those involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the activities at the guest house.
