Patna: Prices of premium fuels in Patna have risen, with new rates for high-grade petrol and diesel coming into effect on Wednesday, according to the Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
The price of X-100 octane petrol has been increased by Rs 11 per litre, taking it from Rs 149 to Rs 160 per litre in the city. The sharp hike is expected to affect motorists who rely on high-performance fuel, typically used in premium or high-end vehicles.
Premium diesel has also become costlier, though the increase is more modest. The price of Extra Green Diesel has gone up by Rs 1.50 per litre, rising from Rs 91.49 to Rs 92.99 per litre.
Despite the rise in premium fuel rates, there has been no change in the prices of regular petrol and diesel, offering relief to the majority of consumers who depend on standard fuels for daily commuting.
The impact of the hike is likely to remain limited. X-100 octane petrol is currently available at only one fuel station in Patna, meaning relatively few motorists will be directly affected. However, for those using premium fuels, the increase is expected to add to overall running costs.
