Patna: Patna is set to receive significant improvements in its road and drainage infrastructure as Bihar’s Road Construction Minister, Nitin Nabin, and Bankipur MLA, laid the foundation stone for ten development projects on Friday. The projects, worth around Rs 1 crore in total, will be carried out under the Chief Minister’s Area Development Scheme and cover various wards of the Patna Municipal Corporation. The work includes widening roads, constructing PCC paths, and installing RCC underground drains to improve both transportation and water management in the city.
Minister Nitin Nabin said that the sustainable development of Patna is a priority for the government. He explained that the projects aim to provide safe and modern transportation facilities while tackling the city’s long-standing problem of waterlogging. “These initiatives will make commuting easier for residents and help in creating a well-organized city,” he added.
The planned projects cover multiple areas across Patna. Work includes RCC paths and drains in Salimpur Ahara, underground drains from Mona Cinema to Kali Mandir, PCC paths from Bhattacharya Road to Bumper Tola Community Hall, and underground drains connecting Prachir Ashirwad Apartments to Exhibition Road, among others. Each project has been carefully budgeted to ensure proper construction and timely completion.
Officials highlighted that the completion of these projects will benefit local residents by reducing waterlogging and improving road safety. The initiative reflects Bihar Government’s commitment to upgrading Patna’s infrastructure and creating a modern, accessible city. Work on all projects will be closely monitored to ensure quality and effectiveness, promising a significant improvement in daily life for the city’s residents.
