Patna: A road safety skating marathon was held in Patna on Sunday morning to promote adherence to traffic rules and encourage safer road behaviour. The event began at 6am from the Marine Drive roundabout and concluded at LCT Ghat.
Youth-Led Road Safety Campaign
Organised jointly by the Patna Traffic Police and the NCC Alumni Association, NCC Udaan, the event saw participation from skaters and young people. Participants used the marathon to convey messages on traffic discipline, caution and safe travel.
The organisers said regular public awareness campaigns are important for encouraging compliance with traffic rules and helping reduce road accidents. The initiative also focused on involving young people in road safety programmes.
Officials Attend Flag-Off Ceremony
An award ceremony was held before the marathon was flagged off. The ADG (Traffic) and Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Patna, attended the programme and encouraged the participants.
Dhiraj Kumar, State Coordinator, NCC Alumni Bihar, along with Traffic DSP-II Anil Kumar, Traffic DSP-III Ashish Kumar and Traffic DSP-IV Paurush Agarwal, were also present.
Contributors Honoured
Several individuals associated with the initiative were recognised for their contribution. They included KPS Kesari and Arun Agrawal, former presidents of the Bihar Industries Association, Sanjay Goenka, advisor at NCC Udaan, and Ashish Kumar of Skate Zone Academy.
The organisers also acknowledged the contribution of Skate Zone Academy and other collaborators in conducting the marathon.
Focus On Responsible Road Behaviour
The event highlighted the importance of treating traffic-rule compliance as a shared responsibility. Participants urged the public to follow road regulations, remain cautious while travelling and adopt safe traffic practices.
