Sasaram: Four men have been arrested in connection with the gang-rape of a fourth-grade student at a private school hostel in Rohtas, Bihar. The victim, who had recently returned to study at the school, was visiting her aunt, who works at a sewing and embroidery center on the school premises.
Police were alerted to the incident and an investigation was immediately launched. Dehri Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Atulesh Jha and Indrapuri Station House Officer Madhuri Kumari arrived at the scene, and a case was registered. All four suspects, reportedly staff members at the hostel, were taken into custody and are being questioned.
The young victim was taken to Sadar Hospital in Sasaram for a medical examination before being handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). A CWC team is also investigating the case due to its serious nature.
Investigation Underway
The victim’s aunt has also been detained for questioning by police. According to officials, the victim had previously attended the school and stayed in the hostel before returning home. She had recently come back to the school to resume her studies and was staying with her aunt. The victim’s father is deceased.
ASP Jha stated that a thorough investigation is underway and a medical board has been formed. “Various aspects are being investigated thoroughly,” he said, adding that further details would be released after the investigation report is completed.
